They've Got Personality with a Capital P

As I jump into this venture with both feet, I'm discovering I've got to get more creative when my subjects are kids. I'm not going to be your run of the mill typical photographer. Sitting a kid in front of a camera and trying to get them to sit still and smile just doesn't work for me. I want them to be themselves while also managing to get some shots with them looking at the camera. Real smiles and laughs always look better than forced ones. Especially with kids. Hence the need to get creative: to come up with good dialogue and questions to get the kids smiling. So what does this mean for me?

I'm going to get lots of shots like this with personality bursting at the seams.

And I'm probably going to be telling a lot of knock knock jokes.
